Final Project

For this class i have been wanting to do a project with my feet. Now that the weather is starting to get nice i was able to do just that.  I really wanted my images to be of nature and somewhat like a day with out shoes. I really like how dirty my feet go and i think my images show that very well.

Project 5

For this project we created a CD jewel case.  I decided on a summer theme, as in hope that it soon will be here.  The first image, right side is the front cover and the left side would be the inside of the case.  The second image is the back of the case.

Project 4.2 Master Study Portrait

For this project we took pictures of ourselves and put our face in place of a painting.  I edited the hues and added filters to try to get the colors and have the same feel as the rest of the painting.

Project 3 - Winter WONDERland

Project 3 dealt with surrealist photomontage.  I enlarged my student ID and hung clothes by giant clothes pins, in the middle of winter, from a tree.

This is Kurt Schmitters’  Die heilige Nacht von Antonio Allegri gen. Correggio, done in 1947.  When I think of collage, this is what I mostly think of. I really like how he has used all sorts of different kinds of paper.  It keeps your eye moving.  Schmitter uses a very classical approach to collage. It looks very simple and like anyone could do something similar, but he adds depth by placing darker pieces of paper in the background.  Every time I look, I see something new and interesting.

This is Josh Sommers photo, untitled. Comparing Schmitters’ photo to Sommers’, it also keeps your eye moving.  Although they have very different subject matter, they both are appealing to the viewer.  The way he brings the face into the tree looks difficulty.  Also finding a tree that has room for a nose would be hard or manipulating the photo would not be easy.  My eye goes straight to the eye ball, then to the ground, followed by the light area in the background and then to the leaves and branches and back to the eye.

Elements and Principles of Art

Color:
     f5.5
     1/170

Changed the colors to make it more antique and i liked the "old time" colors.  I also liked that the picture is close and shows the detail of the paint.

Emphasis:
     f5.5
     1/300

I lightened the door and brought the color out in the door knob. i really like the shine on it and am really happy with this photo!

Shape:
     f5.5
     1/59

I really liked the pine cone against the snow and then the tress in the background. I also really like it in black and white!

Space:
     f4.0
     1/350

I really like the space in this photo and how the fence sends your eyes back and then the road and tree brings your eyes forward again.

Texture:
     f3.1
     f/45

I really love this blue shag carpet in my grandfathers house. I zoomed in close and brightened the color a bit. It really feels like if you were to touch this photo, it would really feel like shag carpet!!
